Judge's comments: Although the guy on the crane was a bigger news event, the fire scene made a better photo due to capturing the humanity, and the photog at the crane scene chose the wrong frame for the entry, as we saw from the better pic in his multi-pic entry.

NAPANEE, Ont. (01/12/2013) — A resident walks away as firefighters respond to his house fire on Highway 33, Napanee, Ont. on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013. There were no injuries. It started at around 2 p.m. as a garage fire and later spread to the house. Judge's comments: Portraits are really weak. try to use the light and environment better. the hunting one was a missed opportunity that would be worth taking another try at. Maybe do a photo story on just the women hunter?

BELLEVILLE, Ont. (25/11/13 ) —Judy Woodley is a 65-year-old woman who was diagnosed with early onset dementia in February 2013. Though she has come to terms with the disease she is most afraid of losing who she is. As a nurse and a mother, she calls herself a caretaker. Now, her husband, son and grandson are currently learning how to take care of her. The transition is inevitable for Woodley who knows what is to come with having dementia. This photo story is about Woodley letting others take care of her while still holding on to her identity. A shadow of Woodley appears on her cupboard on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013.
