Judges' comments: A lot of weak entries - the top four stood out plainly. first is visually well shot and has a strong moment, this together makes it the top choice. Second is also a strong moment and well composed; judges liked the hand on the door handle. Third was fantastically composed but a weaker moment. HM is a traditional newspaper photo that would be able to run in any paper.

NEWS
Judges' comments: First was a clear winner, great of the photographer to get so close. Although the photo is poorly shot, with highlights way to bright in the corner. Second photo needs better composition but great moment. Third picture could be a lot more stronger with a better crop. Judges wish there was a Spot News category as well.

SPORTS
Judges' comments: First photo is good composition and great action, and thats what makes a good sports photo. Second photo make the judges curious as to what was happening, great moment in a non-traditional sports moment. Third photo is a fine photo. HM is good action but poorly cropped and poor quality.
